Journey to Enterprise Content Delivery

Join us as we re-live our journey from PDF to topic-based dynamic delivery, from Author-It to DITA, through two mergers and two DITA CCMS with one taxonomy and one doc portal. We recount our early success at ARRIS: convincing stakeholders of the value of online content delivery, proof-of-concept site, beta launch; and disruption: acquisition of Ruckus, a new charter, team integration, and production launch of our portal. We recount our adaptive and technical challenges: convincing new stakeholders of the value of content delivery, balancing competing interests of different companies with diverse tools and customer bases, merging taxonomy and metadata models, sharing maintenance processes, and ultimately representing multiple brands in the same portal simultaneously. Our recent merger with CommScope gives us the opportunity to apply lessons learned as we navigate the next leg of our journey.

What can the audience expect to learn?

Participants will learn:
– how to articulate the value of content delivery
– how to move from PDF downloads to a dynamic publishing portal
– how to go from zero metadata to unified taxonomy across multiple CCMS
– how to successfully implement shared maintenance of a metadata model
– most importantly: how persistence eventually pays off…
